Topic: “How can Universities Respond to Needs of the Society?—From Service-Learning to Community Engagement in the Global Village.”
 

This symposium has invited the president of Fu Jen University, the current host, the president of Lingnan University, the host of the symposium in 2013, and the president of Petra Christian University in Indonesia, the expected host of the next symposium in 2017, the Vice Principal of Loyola College Chennai in India, to jointly discuss service learning. Points of discussion will include the place higher education plays in the age of globalization, how to best respond to the needs of society, and how to go beyond basic service learning by becoming more involved in local communities.
